Director of Social and Digital Media

Position Description:

This position will serve to lead The DeMoss Group’s social and digital media efforts. The position will be tasked with designing and implementing social and digital media strategies on behalf of the firm and its clients.

Responsibilities include developing tactics (online and mobile), educating the PR team on emerging trends and technologies in social media, implementing strategies (including online advertising, social media page creation and engagement, online content creation and editing, blogger campaigns, etc.), and making recommendations to senior management for advancing the firm’s capabilities and offerings in the areas of digital and online media.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, a strategic thinker, a collaborator comfortable working in teams, an excellent communicator (both capable of translating technical jargon for a non-techie audience as well as a strong writer - particularly for social media platforms), and possess a thorough understanding of The DeMoss Group’s client base - Christian ministries and enterprises.

Key Responsbilities:

  • Act as strategic leader for the agency’s social and digital media capability.

  • Provide strategy for the firm and its clients regarding online and mobile engagement with key audiences.

  • Work with internal teams to deliver digital campaigns as well as perform duties such as keyword research, development of creative concepts, analytics evaluation and tactical implementation as needed.

  • Work with the public relations and production teams to manage online projects, ensuring they stay on time, on budget and meet or exceed client goals.

  • Regularly educate the PR team on trends in social media and emerging technology tools and provide training, as appropriate, in the usage of new online tools.

  • Monitor website and social media analytics to glean statistics about website users, targeted email campaigns and other new media ventures, and adapt strategies accordingly for maximum reach and effectiveness.

  • Communicate internally and externally with professionalism, courtesy and credibility.

Core Proficiencies:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, driving projects through from conception to completion

  • Communicative and functional mastery of social media vehicles like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and others

  • Knowledge and experience with blogging platforms and content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress

  • Experience with Internet marketing (cost-per-click, social context ads, search engine optimization) programs

  • Creative thinking and efficient implementation

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in similar position

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Additional Skills Desired:

  • Proficiency with web and graphic tools, including Adobe Creative Suite 5 (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), Flash, Microsoft Office and programming languages (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, PHP, XML, .asp)
